Classics & Coffee - Winter
On a brisk June Sunday morning you’ll find some of Perth’s hidden gems puttering around West Perth on their way to the winter’s season of Classic Cars & Coffee. What started life as a small meet between a few local car enthusiasts has since grown into an event of close to 350 cars.
For June, it seemed members from each car club had come out in force to support the event, with everything from 50s-period diplomatic shuttles to the latest AMG GT.
Despite the cool weather, the morning turned into a gorgeous winter’s day with blue skies and a fresh breeze. Easily 700+ car enthusiasts turned out, with the main car park filling just before 9am.
The beauty of this style of meet is the variety and acceptance of everything and anything. A 50’s Packard can part next to a 90s 850CSi, which sits opposite a thundering 1964 AC Cobra Coupe, waiting patiently for the latest Porsche GT3 RS to slink past.
Highlights included a gorgeous Jaguar XK120 racer with an unpainted raw metal body, an early 90s V12 Diablo SV and a gaggle of Classic British sportsters
Fresh coffee flowed, baristed by The Patron Beverage Co out of an old Citroen Type-H van, quickly whittling down the queues and serving refreshments with hardly any wait times. A trade stall from Richard’s Tyrepower, who arrived with Michelin’s latest range of classic Race Compounds and street tyres, offering a bit of visual variety and something technical to have a little nerd out on while waiting for your Long Black or Almond Milk Latte.
After two hours in the morning sun it was time to pack up and head out. As always the meet was exceptionally well run and organised offering a quality and variety of car you won’t see anywhere else in Perth.
Thanks to Paul, Deryck, Natalie and their team of volunteers for the fantastic show, we’ll see you all at the next meet in July. Enjoy the full gallery below.
